MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Miguel Negron went 3-for-5, knocking in a run, and Maikel Jova added two RBIs to lead the New Hampshire Fisher Cats past the Portland Sea Dogs, 6-3 on Thursday night.
Erik Kratz and Brad Hassey added solo homers as the Fisher Cats (13-20) won their fourth straight.
Danny Hill (1-1) earned the win, allowing one hit in three innings of scoreless middle relief of starter Ismael Ramirez.
Jim Bullard earned his first save with a scoreless final inning and a third.
Dave Pauley (2-2) took the loss for Portland, allowing three runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out five and walking one.
Portland (19-13) jumped ahead 1-0 in the first as Luis Antonio Jimenez scored David Murphy on a sacrifice fly.
New Hampshire answered with two in the second as Kratz led off with his first homer of the year.
Adam Lind added a two-out single scoring Carlo Cota.
Hassey’s homer, his first of the year, made it 3-1 in the fourth.
After Portland’s Alberto Concepcion singled in Chad Spann to cut the lead to 3-2 in the seventh, Jova followed with a two-run single in the bottom of the frame scoring Negron and Adam Lind for a 5-2 New Hampshire lead.
Portland’s Tyler Minges and New Hampshire’s Negron added RBI doubles, respectively, in the eighth inning to account for the 6-3 final.
