AUBURN – The White Sox ran its record to 2-0 Sunday in Men’s Senior Baseball League (over 30) with an 8-2 victory over the Red Sox at Pettengill Park

Sean Cheetham pitched the first 5 innings to gain the win. Torey Tarr took the loss.

The White Sox scored in the second on an RBI single by Mark Plourde. The Red Sox went ahead in the top of the third on RBI singles by Bob Cochran and Kevin Morrissette. The Pale Sox tied the score with an unearned run in the last of the third, then took the lead for good in the fourth on a 2-run single by Jamie Lobb, followed by a run-scoring single by Jim Wacenski.

The White Sox later added insurance runs on a bases-loaded walk to Jay Russell and run-scoring hits by Dan Coleman and Mark Gosselin.

Nate Stubbert and Jim Morris eached pitched 2 innings for the Red Hose, while Gosselin and Coleman both hurled 2 innings for the winners.

The only repeat hitter for the Red Sox was Cochran. For the White Sox, Gosselin and Lobb each banged 2 hits,while Coleman and Plourde both rapped 3.

The White Sox will host the Knights Sunday at 9 a.m. at Pettengill. Other 9 a.m. games have the Dodgers at Red Sox at Litchfield, and the Westies at Rockies at Keyes Fiber. At 12 noon, the Indians will host the Cardinals at Litchfield.
