LEWISTON – Danielle Willey hurled seven innings of five-hit softball and received good support at the plate as Lewiston rolled past Morse 4-1 in a KVAC matchup Wednesday.

Willey helped her own cause with two hits and one RBI for the Blue Devils (7-5), while Allie Morin also tallied two hits.

The Shipbuilders (3-7) were paced by pitcher Jill Henrickson with two hits, while Emma Hunter belted an RBI double in the seventh to prevent a shutout.

Lisbon 8, Madison 1

LISBON – Limited to four hits, Lisbon took full advantage of 11 walks to roll to an 8-1 victory over Madison in a softball game Wednesday.

Madison (5-3) built a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but the Greyhounds (9-3) took command with three runs in the third. Highlighting the outburst was a two-run single by Heather Perry and an RBI double by Siobhan Riordan.

Emily Moore struck out four to earn the win for Lisbon.

Rangeley 26, Averill 2

RANGELEY – Kate Jamison had two hits, including a triple and three RBIs and picked up the win on the mound, as Rangeley crushed Averill 26-2 in softball action.

Krista Jamison led Rangeley (2-3) with four hits, while Emily George hit a triple, a double and a single. Ashley Quimby, Raina Eustis and Ashley Morton each had two hits and a double.

Mt. Blue 3, Leavitt 2

TURNER – Mt. Blue scored three unearned runs in the first inning and hung on to edge Leavitt 3-2 in KVAC softball action Wednesday.

Caitlin Richard led the Cougars (2-9) with two doubles, while Olivia Hastings also belted a double. Anna Ross picked up the mound win after seven innings of work.

The Hornets (5-7) were paced by pitcher Beth Burgess who tallied an RBI single.

Fryeburg 3, York 1

FRYEBURG – Hannah Hill struck out 10 batters and walked none as Fryeburg rolled to a 3-1 victory over York in WMC softball action Wednesday.

Hill and Jordan Pandora led the Raiders (5-6) with two hits apiece, with one RBI for Pandora.

York (3-6) was paced by Lindsey Robinson with two hits on the day. Hayley Woods handled pitching duties and was tagged with the loss.

Dirigo 20, Carrabec 6

NORTH ANSON – Holly Knight and Shannon Daley led a 12-hit attack with three hits each as Dirigo sprinted to a 20-6 win over Carrabec (1-8) in MVC softball action Wednesday.

Cougar (8-2) pitcher Abby Fenstermacher scattered six hits, walking none and striking out three over four innings. Katie Hutchinson struck out the side in the fifth inning for Dirigo.

Monmouth 5, Jay 2

JAY – Kayla Chick pitched a disciplined game as Monmouth nudged Jay 5-2 in MVC softball action Wednesday.

The Mustangs (6-7-1) picked up runs in the first, third and fourth innings, while Alex Gauthier produced the only extra base hit with a triple in the game.

Natasha Hebert tried to get things going in the final frame for the Tigers (4-8), but her two-run single was all Jay could muster.

Poland 9, Lake Region 3

NAPLES – Senior pitcher Kelli O’Connor went the distance and recorded 10 strikeouts as Poland exploded for eight runs in the top of the 10th inning for a 9-3 victory over Lake Region in WMC softball action Wednesday.

Sophomore Kaci Ford had a pair of doubles off the bench for the Knights (5-4), including a bases-clearing shot in the eight-run 10th inning. Ford was also responsible for plating the tying run in the sixth inning. Kelsey Powers tried to rally the Lakers (4-6) in the home half of the 10th with a two-run triple and only one out, but Lake Region simply ran out of steam.

Livermore Falls 18, Wiscasset 0

LIVERMORE FALLS – Whitney McDaniel hurled five innings of three-hit softball and got plenty of support at the plate to lead Livermore Falls to a 18-0 victory over Wiscasset.

Erica Gatz led the Andies (6-4) with three hits and two RBIs, while Marjorie Debrosky, Taryn Flagg, Jenika Kelley and Chelsea Morris all tallied two hits each.

The Redskins (2-8) were paced by Lauren Etter with a double. Michelle Miete handled pitching duties and was tagged with the loss.

Oxford Hills 14, Mt. Ararat 2

SOUTH PARIS – Jen Schnoor belted three hits and had four RBIs to propel Oxford Hills to a 14-2 romp over Mt. Ararat in more softball action.

Schnoor led the powerhouse Vikings (10-1) with an RBI double, while Mindy Rugg belted a triple. Samantha Dolloff picked up the mound win after five successful innings of work. The Eagles were paced by Janinna Brown with an RBI double. Michelle Prevost handled pitching duties and was saddled with the loss.

Mt. Abram 7, Hall-Dale 5

FARMINGDALE – Loghan Walker hurled seven innings of five-hit softball and received strong support at the plate as Mt. Abram edged Hall-Dale 7-5 in a MVC matchup.

Walker and Asia Burrill led the team offensively with two hits apiece.

The Bulldogs (4-7) were paced by Julia Nyitray with two hits. Nyitray also handled pitching duties and was tagged with the loss.

Livermore Falls 7, Jay 4

JAY – Erica Gatz belted out four hits and had three RBIs to propel Livermore Falls to a 7-4 victory over Jay in MVC softball action.

Whitney McDaniel picked up her third mound win of the week with a strong performance. Taryn Flagg belted a two-run home run in the first inning for the Andies (7-4) to set the tone right away.

The Tigers (4-8) were paced by Kaylie DeMillo with three hits, while Liz Leblanc added two. Felicia Floyd handled pitching duties and was credited with the loss.

Cony 2, EL 1

AUGUSTA – Meaghan Stiman ripped an RBI single in the 17th inning to lift Cony to a 2-1 victory over Edward Little in a KVAC baseball matchup Wednesday.

Stiman led the Rams (10-1) with three hits on the day, while Monica White added two. White also picked up the mound win after a marathon game effort.

The Red Eddies (2-9) were paced by Kim Lawrence with two hits on the day. Alyssa Levesque handled pitching duties and was tagged with the loss.

Telstar 3, Winthrop 0

WINTHROP – Jillian Kimball pitched a complete-game two-hit shutout with no walks and five strikeouts to pick up her fourth win and lead Telstar to a 3-0 victory against Winthrop in an MVC softball matchup on Wednesday.

Kayla Mills had two hits and an RBI in the seventh for Telstar (9-0). Kayla Kimball had both hits for Winthrop (2-6).
