LEWISTON – The boys’ and girls’ swim teams at Lewiston High School have been recognized by the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Associstion for their academic achievement.

Each team received a “Team Scholar Award” for having a combined team grade-point average above 3.5 on a 4 point scale. A total of 50 athletes were on the team in the 2006 season. Lewiston is one of three Maine high schools, joining Orono and Cape Elizabeth, which had both teams qualify for the national honor.
