Dear Sun Spots: What kind of paper is used for printing Bibles? It is very thin, and yet the printing on the opposite side is not visible unless a page is held up to the light. I would like to find something similar in 8½-by-11 to use in my computer printer. – No Name, No Town.

Answer: According to www.biblepaper.com, bible paper is thin, lightweight, opaque printing paper for use when low bulk is important, as in bibles, prayer and hymn books, dictionaries, insurance rate books, and for multifold package inserts. Some grades are made from strong, new cotton and linen rags; others from flax. Greatest tonnage is made from chemical wood pulp alone or in combination with rag fibers. It is also called India or India Bible. In checking with the Abbey Permanent Paper Survey, bible paper is made by the company E.B. Eddy Paper, 604-527-2500, P.O. Box 2170, New Westminster, BC V3L 5A5, Canada.

Dear Sun Spots: Community Little Theatre is in need of volunteers to help in preparing its newsletter for distribution. The director is Barry Sonnenfeld, and the screenplay is by Geoff Rodkey.
