AUBURN – Laura B. Green, 92, of the Chapman House, 41 Pleasant St., formerly of 242 Daggett Hill Road, Greene, died Saturday, June 3, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care.

She was born in Sidney, March 1, 1914, the daughter of Joseph and Lena B. Young Durrell. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1932 and was married in Lewiston on Aug. 12, 1932, to Sherwood T. Green, who predeceased her on May 3, 1993.

She was a homemaker and later worked as a receptionist at Falcon Shoe Co., until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star, Mt. Olivet Chapter, past noble grand of Fidelity Lodge 4 of Rebekas and also district deputy marshal. She lived in Greene for 26 years and joined the Greene Senior Citizens. She was an honorary member of the Robin Dow Senior Citizens.

She is survived by two sons, David Green and wife, Arlene, of Gorham and Palm Bay, Fla., and Delmont Green and companion, Lois, of Naples, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews; and friends.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley Elliott; son-in-law, Richard Elliott; a son, Kenneth Green; a brother, Eugene Durrell; and two sisters, Natalie Betts and her twin sister, Aura Durrell.

Her family wishes to thank the staff at the Chapman House for their loving care of Laura while she was a resident there.
