AUBURN – Ronald E. Greenleaf, 67, of Industry, died Monday, June 5, at Androscoggin Hospice Home, where he had been a resident for the past five days after a long illness.
He was born on April 19, 1939, in Farmington, the son of Wayne and Ethel (Waugh) Greenleaf. He was educated in the schools of Farmington and graduated from Farmington High School, Class of 1957. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea.
He married Lois Frost on Nov. 2, 1963, in Industry. He worked for B.D. Moore, Forster Mfg. Co., G.H. Bass and International Paper Co. and later worked for Western Maine Transportation as a volunteer driver.
He was a member of Farmington Elks and Shorey Chapel in Industry. He coached Little League baseball and was a Cub Scout leader. He enjoyed family gatherings, hunting, fishing, camping and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Lois of Industry; son, Travis Greenleaf of Industry; two daughters, Laurie Boyker and special friend, Rick Blodgett, of Temple, and Wanda Smith and husband, Michael, of Starks; a sister, Pam Hyde and her husband, Bobby, of Chesterville; five grandchildren, Pam, Corey and A.J. Boyker, Bailey and Jacob Smith; one great-grandson, Deven Rackliffe; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his special dog and companion Bear.
