LEWISTON – Lewiston Adult Education and the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety encourage parents and teens to participate in two sessions designed to be a “road map to safer driving.”

Statistics show that car crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers. “Getting Out Alive: The Parent-Teen Driving Challenge” is about defining the risks facing younger drivers, the reasons for the risks and determining actions teens and parents can take to reduce the risks.

The classes will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, June 26 and 28, at Lewiston High School. A parent or adult family member must accompany teens. The fee is $25 a participant. Seating is limited and advance registration is required.

Together teen drivers and their parents will look at human behavior, choices, responsibility and control, resulting in safer driving. Parents and teens will receive a three-point credit on their license and may be eligible for an insurance reduction with their carrier.

For more information or to register, call Lewiston Adult Education at 795-4141 or go to www.lewistonadulted.org.
