TORONTO (AP) – Frank Catalanotto singled in the winning run in the 11th inning to lift the Toronto Blue Jays over the Seattle Mariners 4-3 Sunday.

Toronto, which also beat Seattle in 14 innings on Saturday, improved to 5-0 in extra innings this season despite a rare blown save by closer B.J. Ryan.

Gregg Zaun led off the 11th with a single off George Sherrill (2-2) and went to third on Bengie Molina’s base hit.

Julio Mateo, who allowed Molina’s hit, intentionally walked Aaron Hill before pinch-hitter Russ Adams struck out and Reed Johnson popped out to third. Catalanotto followed with his single to right for the victory.

Yuniesky Betancourt tied it in the ninth with a homer off Ryan, who blew just his second save of the season. It was the first homer off Ryan since Boston’s David Ortiz hit a three-run drive off him when he was Baltimore’s closer. Ryan signed a five-year, $47 million free agent deal in the offseason that is the richest ever for a reliever.

Scott Downs (4-0) pitched two innings for the victory.

Toronto third baseman Troy Glaus left the game with a sore right knee. Glaus is hitting .242 with team-leading 24 home runs and 62 RBI.

Toronto starter A.J. Burnett and Seattle starter Felix Hernandez both got no-decisions.

Burnett allowed two runs and six hits in seven-plus innings. He struck out seven and walked one.

Hernandez yielded three runs and seven hits in 6 2-3 innings in his first start since July 3. With the Mariners wanting to limit Hernandez’s innings this season, his turn in the rotation was skipped last Sunday.

Betancourt singled in the fifth and stole second before Burnett intentionally walked Ichiro Suzuki to face Adrian Beltre, who hit a run-scoring double to left.

John McDonald walked in the bottom half, stole second and scored on Johnson’s RBI double to right. Frank Catalanotto followed with an RBI single to give Toronto a 2-1 lead.

Aaron Hill and Johnson chased Hernandez with singles in the seventh before reliever Jake Woods issued back-to-back walks to Frank Catalanotto and Vernon Wells to give Toronto a 3-1 lead.

Raul Ibanez hit an RBI single in the eighth to get Seattle within one.

Notes: Hernandez won his only previous start against the Blue Jays, giving up two hits in 7 1-3 innings of a 3-2 victory on Sept. 21, 2005. … The Blue Jays tried to use Burnett as long as they could after using nine relievers in Saturday’s 14-inning victory. … Johnson, the right fielder, made a diving catch to rob Jose Lopez of a run-scoring single in the third.
