LEEDS – Sabattus Blue (1) captured top honors in the 12+ Division in the A-K Girls Softball League playoffs. Sabattus Blue knocked off Sabattus Red (5) in the championship contest.

In earlier action, Sabattus Red beat Green Gators (4). Other entries were Turner Patriots (2), Turner Blue Jays (3), Greene Eagles (6), Hartford (7) and Leeds (8).

Leeds won the Team Good Sportsmanship Award.

The 10+ division (150 girls) ended its season earlier.

Lewiston Men

LEWISTON – Heath Crocker’s game-winning hit in the last of the 8th provided BT Pallet with a thrilling 12-11 victory over Gipper’s. Crocker finished with 4 hits. Bob Martin, Jesse St. Laurent and Ed Morrisette all homered for the winners. Mike Gazza walloped 2 homers for Gipper’s who is now tied with Pallet for first place in the overall league standings.

Auburn Sportsman

AUBURN – Earl Gardner belted 2 home runs and drove in 5 4runs to power Motor Home to a 13-4 win over RDB Construction in recent action.

Meineke outslugged Reggie’s 16-10 as Greg Rose and Mike O’Connor clouted homers. Paul Beaulieu ripped a grand-slam for Reggie’s. John Langelier was the winning pitcher.
