NORWAY – Fernando Navarro, M.D. has joined the active medical staff of Stephens Memorial Hospital and Western Maine Surgery. He will begin providing services in the general surgery in July.

Navarro attended medical school at Escuela Comobiana de Medicina in Colombia, finishing in 1996. From 1999-2001 he was a research fellow at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. He completed his internship in general surgery at Boston University Medical Center. His residency in general surgery was at Maine Medical Center from 2002-2006.

Navarro joined Western Maine Surgery, a new affiliate of Western Maine Health on July 25. He and his wife, Christina Auffant, will reside in Norway.
