TURNER – A Brunswick motorcyclist suffered a broken leg and other minor injuries in a Route 4 accident Monday afternoon.
Darryl Roberts, 42, was headed southbound on his 1975 Honda motorcycle when he was struck by a northbound 2001 Kia driven by Mark Gagnon, 47, of Livermore.
Damages were estimated at $2,000 to Gagnon’s Kia and $1,000 to Roberts’ motorcycle.
Assisting with the accident was Lt. Glenn Holt of the Androscoggin County Sheriffs Department.
Holt said the crash occurred when Gagnon attempted to make a right shoulder pass around a car turning left into Turner Self Storage. Gagnon lost control of his car, swerved across Route 4 into oncoming traffic and struck Roberts.
“It’s quite possible that speed was a factor,” Holt said Monday evening. “This accident had the potential to be a lot worse.”
