AUBURN – Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre has a mailroom crew. Recently implemented by Doreen Traynor, executive director, and Carolyn Robertson, coordinator of volunteers, the volunteers on the crew will be responsible for preparing postcards and other notices going out bulk mail to theater patrons, resulting in considerable savings to the theater.

Their first project was sorting and labeling postcards for the theater’s Aug. 11 to 20 production of “Mame.” The task was achieved in less than two hours. The group is looking forward to “The Fantasticks” postcards for the Oct. 13 to 22 performances.

The theater survives on many volunteers in several categories. In addition to mailing, there are opportunities for volunteers in publicity, archives, box office, lobby, house/ushers, playbill, sewing, set construction and painting sets, props, photography, concession workers, costumes and play reading.

Anyone who has an interest or a skill to share should call the box office at 783-0958.

An opportunity to join the theater will be available at the annual meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at the Great Falls Performing Arts Center, Academy Street. People may also call the box office or access the Web site at www.laCLT.com.
