WATERFORD – Rockie Graham has been reinstated as manager of the town’s transfer station.
Selectmen told Graham at their July 17 meeting that they would write her a letter of reinstatement, since her 30-day probation had ended. At their meeting Wednesday, though, they voted not to do so.
Graham said Thursday that she received an e-mail asking her to be at the town office before 8:30 that morning. There, she and selectmen Norman Rust and David Marston signed a letter dated Aug. 2 reinstating her as manager.
The letter lists four conditions for Graham’s reinstatement. She agreed to treat patrons with respect, perform all functions of her job, and work with other attendants as necessary to complete all tasks in a timely and effective manner. That final condition stated that Graham is under no physical limitations in the performance her duties.
Rust said in a phone interview Thursday that Graham signed the document without comment on any physical limitations she may have.
Graham said, though, that she discussed her limitations with selectmen before signing the document, and “they said that so long as my limitations are not worse than when I was hired.” She said her job description does not require her to do any lifting.
The transfer station is in Albany Township.
