NEW SHARON – Two people are accused of stealing an alleged $1,500-plus in vehicle parts Thursday night after a deputy spotted a car weighted down in the back pulling out of a dealership.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Cpl. Nate Bean arrested Robert Landry, 41, of Norridgewock and Eloria Groves, 21, of Norridgewock each on a charge of felony theft by unauthorized taking, Chief Deputy Ray Meldrum said Friday.

Bean stopped the vehicle about 10:15 p.m. while on routine patrol after he saw it pulling out of Tuttle’s Auto Sales on Route 2, he said.

Bean, assisted by Deputy Michelle St. Clair, discovered several parts in the car, including a dismantled plow frame, vehicle rims and batteries that belonged to Tuttle’s, Meldrum said.

Landry and Groves were taken to Franklin County jail in Farmington and were released after they each posted $100 cash bail.

They are scheduled to appear Sept. 15 in 12th District Court in Farmington.
