LEWISTON – Artwork by 56 adults and children, all students of local art teacher Mercedes Gastonguay, are featured in the exhibition in the Atrium Gallery at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College. The exhibition of oils, drawings, pastels and watercolors will continue through Aug. 18.

More than 300 guests attended the opening reception on Friday, July 21. Awards were given for outstanding work, with Best of Show going to Moriah Churchill, 17, of Auburn.

In the age 8 and 9 category, first place went to Bernadette Racine; second, Kenzie Labadie; third, Makala Kelly; and honorable mention, Matthew Keaney and Chandra Labonte.

In the age 10 to 12 group, first, Benjamin Wigant; second, Katie Philbrick; third, Andrew Butler; and honorable mention, Zack Labadie, Morgan Lessard, Taylor Milliken and Brianna Wilson.

For ages 13 and 14, first, Megan Beliveau; second, Asia Castro; third, Sarah Patrie; and honorable mention, Evan Carrier, Olivia Cote, Ashley Rogers and Anna Smedley.

For ages 15 to 18, first, Michael Butler; second, Brittanie Partridge; third, Jonathan Warner; and honorable mention, Ashley Berry, Sara Biron, Brittany Hearne and Kevin McKeown.

For the adult students, first, Lorraine Lamare; second, Patricia Poulin; third, Susan Kendall; and honorable mention, Stacey Gravel, Joyce M. LaRoche and Colleen Rioux.
