Vacation school

NORTH MONMOUTH – The North Monmouth Community Church will hold Vacation Bible School, “Fiesta! Where Kids Get Fired Up About Jesus!,” from 8:45 to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 14 to 18. There will be crafts, games, music and snacks for prekindergarten through grade six.

Seniors picnic

AUBURN – The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Hasty Community Center for a picnic with the New Auburn Senior Citizens. There will be coffee and doughnuts in the morning, and lunch will be hot dogs and hamburgers. Bingo will be played after lunch.

The club met on Aug. 2 with President Caroline Chapman presiding. There were 60 present. Attendance winners were Irene Fraser and Dick Bubier; pot of gold, Helen Maguire, Don Nason and Bob Adkins.

Bridge winners

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Aug. 7th were: first, Lucille Bilodeau and Luke Merry; second, Ron Reynolds and Ray Sirois; third, Eileen Potvin and Les Buzzell; fourth, Martine Begert and Jeanine Kivus; first in B, Roger Briggs and Charles Bartlett.

The Lewiston Adult Education Office is accepting registration for a beginner’s bridge class, which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 11. A Play of the Hand Class will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. beginning that same day. Call 795-4141 or register online at www.lewistonadulted.org.
