LEWISTON – The art work of Judy Schaub of Auburn will be featured during September at Central Maine Medical Center. The Woman’s Hospital Association sponsors the art gallery featuring local artists each month.
Schaub is a self-employed pediatric physical therapist with a degree from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
She began watercolor painting as a hobby by enrolling in evening classes at Lewiston High School, and she has taken lessons from Margery Schuler, Marjorie DiRenzo and Robert Drewall.
Schaub has pursued her hobby despite occasional frustration with the difficulty of the medium and continues to strive to improve her technique. She enjoys painting landscapes, especially those places to which she has traveled. She said she has made good friends through painting and enjoys the camaraderie of the classes.
Schaub has some of her paintings hanging at the Child Health Center and Silva’s Restaurant in Auburn and at Child Developmental Services in Norway.
The Woman’s Hospital Association supports Central Maine Medical Center and its patients, raising money to fund special projects. Anyone interested in membership or the monthly artist showings should call 795-2295.
