LEWISTON – Rainbow Federal Credit Union CEO/President Philippe Moreau has announced that Monique Gagnon would become Rainbow’s executive vice president.
Gagnon began working for Auburn Federal Credit Union in 1978 as a teller and gradually moved into a supervisory position. In 1986, when Auburn FCU merged with Rainbow FCU, she became branch manager. In 1996, she was promoted to vice president of operations, which consisted of human resources and overseeing daily operations, including technical issues. She was instrumental during subsequent mergers, making them relatively trouble-free for the members.
She has been involved with the Central Maine Chapter of Credit Unions as treasurer, and later as president from 1989 to 1991. She helped host representatives from Rwanda during the summer of 2000 and 2001 as they visited several credit unions in Maine to assist in their gaining knowledge of products and services to take back to their country; their intent being to generate their own credit union movement.
Gagnon resides in Auburn with her life-long companion, Jerry Dunn.
