Lewiston – David M. Reed, 55, of Dixon Road, Wales, died unexpectedly early Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Chelsea, Mass., on July 25, 1951, a son to Erlon and Cecile (Strout) Reed. He graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1973, and then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army.

He was the former owner and founder of Northeast construction, then Champs Bar and Grill in Turner and Legends in Lewiston. He was currently employed by L & D Builders as a carpenter. He loved to do work around the house especially with his new tractor and took great pride in his landscaping. He also enjoyed going dancing with his soul mate, Doris.

He leaves two sons, Christopher Reed and his companion, Jenifer Therriault, of Hartford and Timothy Reed and wife, Christine, of Florida; his mother, Cecile Reed of Auburn; companion, Doris Auger and her children, Wendy Brochu and husband, Scott, Wendy’s two children, Zakory Thibodeau and Gavin Brochu, Brian and Nicole Thibodeau; three sisters, Cheryl Reed of Cornish, Earlene Reed of Auburn and Melinie Reed of Auburn; four brothers, Michael Reed and wife, Patricia, of Turner, John Reed and wife, Jeanine, of Greene, Bill Reed and wife, Wendy, of Auburn and Charles Reed and wife, Carol, of Leeds; two grandchildren, Lorean and Daventine Reed of Florida; his former wife and friend, Judy Reed of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Erlon in 1980; and a sister, Cathy Reed in 1997.
