Jones family
STRONG – The Jones reunion was held with 21 present at the home of Andy and Kendra Pratt. A social time as held after dinner.
Letters were read from cousins at the meeting. The genealogist reported evidence on the death of Philemon Rand, age 68. He slipped under a wagon and broke both legs. A few days after amputation, he died on Feb. 10, 1800.
Lorraine and Jay Spenciner invited all to meet at their home in Bridgton next year on the third Sunday in August.
Harlow family
EAST DIXFIELD – The descendants of Stillman and Carrie Morse Harlow met for their 46th annual reunion on Aug. 13 at Rover’s Campground. There were 39 people in attendance for a potluck dinner at 1 p.m. followed by a business meeting and time for family photographs.
One new birth reported this year was that of Alektra Lovely, born April 14, 2006, to John and Melissa Navarro Lovely. Alektra is the granddaughter of Antonio and Betty Bryant Navarro and the great-granddaughter of Norman and Natalie Bryant.
One death was reported for 2006, that of Richard N. Bryant, who died Feb. 25.
During the business meeting, recognition or awards were given in various categories. The award for traveling the furthest went to Amy and Phil Newman who had come from Quebec, Canada. There was a tie for most generations, going to Richard F. and Jeannette Bryant and Norman and Natalie Bryant, each with four generations present.
The youngest member present, who received the traditional stuffed moose, was Alektra Lovely, age 4 months. The eldest male present was Norman Bryant, 83, and eldest female was Natalie Bryant, 84.
First to register was Clint Dolloff. The boy closest to age 8 was Benjamin Marston, born July 17, 1996, son of Neil and June Bryant Marston. The girl closest to age 8 was Amie Bryant, born Nov. 10, 1996, daughter of Almond Bryant. The award for most grandchildren went to Norman and Natalie Bryant, with nine, including their great-grandchildren.
New business discussed included the question of holding the reunion at Rover’s Campground since the death of the host, Richard N. Bryant.
It was voted that Linda Ouellette would check into it and she found that the family can hold the 2007 reunion at Rover’s Campground, so next year’s reunion will be held in the same location.
It was also decided that the treasurer would give a donation from the reunion fund to Rover’s Campground for the privilege of having the pool available.
A motion was made that the officers would remain in office: Norman Bryant, president; Gary Harlow, vice president; Emily Nutt, secretary; and Kay Hamlin, treasurer. Richard F. Bryant will be the reunion photographer. Melissa Lovely volunteered to be in charge of children’s games for 2007.
