LEWISTON – A surprise party was held recently for Emeril and Irene Bergeron of Lewiston, on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary.

The event was planned by their son and daughter, Colette Cote and husband, Bertrand and Andre Bergeron and fiancee, Linda Labrie and was held at the Cote residence.

Mr. Bergeron and the former Irene Verville were married on July 1, 1946 at St. Felix de Valois in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. In addition to their two children, their grandchildren are Daryl and wife, Mary Cote and Jeff Cote and Alison (Bergeron) and husband, David Armitage and Ashley Bergeron. They also have two great-grandchildren, Anna and Amy Cote.

Mrs. Bergeron was employed at Fancy Stitchers and is a member of Holy Cross Parish.

Mr. Bergeron was employed at Bates Mill and is also a member of Holy Cross Parish.

Guests attended from the Lewiston-Auburn area and Cornwall, Ontario, Canada and New Jersey.
