PHILLIPS – A fire broke out in a Park Street house Tuesday morning after a resident left something on the stove unattended, Phillips firefighters said.
Just before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters in Phillips were called to a kitchen fire at 83 Park St., firefighter Ann Hudson said.
The fire was very small, she said, taking firefighters only an hour to finish fighting.
Mutual-aid vehicles that had been called were sent back after the initial Phillips team arrived, she said.
Damage to the home was minor, as things go, Hudson said. “There was about $4,000 – $5,000 damage,” she said.
