LEWISTON – A breakfast panel will discuss the role businesses will play and what tools they will need to protect employees in the event of an influenza pandemic.

The discussion will be held on Thursday, Sept. 21, at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave., Lewiston.

Jon Torres, M.D., MPH and medical director of WorkMed, an occupation health service; Andrew Pelletier, MHP, epidemiologist for Maine Department of Health; and Joanne Potvin, director of the Androscoggin Unified Emergency Management Agency, will help business leaders identify important, specific activities they can do now to prepare.

Registration and the breakfast buffet begins at 7:15 a.m., followed by a panel discussion from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Strategies presented will help business owners steer their businesses through other potential public health emergencies.
