FARMINGTON – The Farmington Elks Lodge 2430 is sponsoring the Elks National Foundation 10th annual Charity Golf Tournament to help support programs that affect children and veterans.

The tournament is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 24, at the Wilson Lake Golf Club on Route 156 in Wilton.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.; shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The golf club will be serving breakfast.

Last year about 60 people participated, Elks Exalted Ruler Willie Deshaies said.

“We certainly would like to have more participants as well as more people helping to sponsor the program,” Deshaies said.

The proceeds will benefit the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, veterans services, drug awareness, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, youth scholarships and Little League Baseball, he said.

There will be a four-man best ball scramble with the entry fee $200 per four-man team, which includes cart, banquet and awards.

The banquet and presentations will be at the Farmington Elks Lodge 2430 on School Street in West Farmington.

An automobile will be the prize for a hole-in-one and there will be other prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin.

For more information, people can call Farmington Elks Lodge at 778-6761, Treasurer Phil O’Brion at 897-2039 or Deshaies at 897-4165.
