BYRON – A rescue operation between several emergency responders and a medical helicopter was underway late Saturday night in the Coos Canyon area to get an man injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident. The man is believed to be in his 50s and suffering from a fractured arm and loss of consciousness.

Due to foggy weather conditions, LifeFlight helicopter could not land in the area, so Med-Care Ambulance was directed to take the man to Rumford Hospital, where he would be loaded directly on the helicopter and flown to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
