BANGOR – Colby rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to score two second half goals and win 2-1 over Husson in womens’ soccer.

Liz Morbeck scored the game winning goal off a pass from Libba Cox with 12:50 remaining in the contest. Laura Williamson tallied the first goal for the Colby (2-0-2) win.

Husson (3-2-1) scored their lone goal on their first shot of the game by Shelby Pickering just 1:18 into the contest.

St. Joseph’s 3, Maine Maritime 1

STANDISH – Three different players scored as St. Joseph’s beat Maine Maritime Academy 3-1 in women’s soccer Tuesday.

The Monks (3-2) got on the board first, with a goal tallied by Anna Willis. The Mariners (1-2-1) evened the score after Diana Manatt-Rogers headed the ball into the net. Heather Stanger and Megan Willette scored back-to-back goals to solidify the Monks win.

Monica Cuda needed to make only one save for the win, while Jessica Hewitt stopped three shots for the Mariners.

Thomas 5, Unity 0

WATERVILLE – Brittany Morin registered a hat trick to lead Thomas to a 5-0 non-conference victory over Unity in more collegiate women’s soccer action Tuesday. Karen Demers and Julia Nyitray also tallied for Thomas to complete the scoring.

Shannon Proctor needed only two saves to record the shutout. Christine Blakesly handled netkeeping duties for Unity, turnind aside 13 shots in the game.

Mens’ soccer
Bowdoin 4, Southern Maine 0

GORHAM – Nick Figueiredo converted a pair of penalty kicks, while Hugh Fleming came off the bench to add two more goals as the Bowdoin College mens’ soccer team posted a 4-0 win over the University of Southern Maine Tuesday afternoon.

Figueiredo converted his first penalty kick after a Bowdoin (3-0-0) forward was taken down in the penalty area. A hand ball later on, gave Figueiredo his second chance, and he buried the shot to make it a 2-0 lead. Simon Parsons and Chris Hickey assisted on the two back-to-back Fleming goals.

Nathan Lovitz was credited with two saves for the suhtout, while the Huskies (4-4-0) Chris Willard finished the match with four saves.

St. Joseph’s 2, Maritime 1 (2OT)

STANDISH – Doug MacCallum gave St. Joseph’s the 2-1 win in double overtime over Maine Maritime Academy as he one-timed a pass from Kenny Kehoe in the 107th minute of play Tuesday.

MacCallum put St. Joe’s on the board in the first half of the game after connecting on a pass by David Hakes. The Mariners tied the game at 1-1 off a goal by Alan Alexander with less than seven minutes to play in regulation.

Greg Cavanaugh was solid in net for St. Joseph’s with seven saves. Josh Heath had six saves for the Mariners.
