PORTLAND – The Portland Boxing Club opened the 2006-2007 season Saturday with 2 wins and a loss at Marshwood Junior High in Berwick.
Welterweight Jason Quirk of Scarborough scored a convincing third round TKO over Dennis Kelter of Boston.
Heavyweight Jason Ellis of Windham performed well, registering a one-sided unanimous decision over Dennis Emond of Lee, N.H.
Superlightweight Casey Kramlich of Gray, dropped a hard-fought unanimous decision to Jeff Harrison of Dover-Foxcroft.
These boxers, along with other members of the Portland Boxing Club, will be competing in the Northeast Regional Championships beginning October 14 at the Portland Club.
