AUBURN – A Sabattus man was jailed on drug charges Thursday after police said they found a half pound of marijuana in his room at the Bass Motel.
Steven Girouard, 49, was arrested on a charge of trafficking in scheduled drugs after a search of his room revealed the pot and a large sum of cash, police said.
At about 5 p.m., police officers Scotty Corey and Andrew Feeney went to the Washington Street motel after they were given a tip that a man was selling marijuana out of his room there.
Police said Girouard gave the officers permission to search the room and that they found the pot minutes after entering.
Girouard was being held Thursday night at the Androscoggin County Jail.
