When the bank goes to Fryeburg fair for money, that’s news.

Fryeburg’s branch of the Casco Bank and Trust Co. ran short of nickels and quarters Friday so they bought some from Fryeburg Fair.

Head teller Clarice Denny discovered there are so many people in town because of the fair – which runs through Sunday – that the bank was temporarily short of change. So she checked with assistant branch manager Bea Head, then telephoned assistant fair treasurer Cathy Trumbull and explained her plight.

Ms. Trumbull secured some change from the fair’s ticket office, arranged for additional coins from Billy Burr’s Fun-O-Rama midway headquarters, and sent it all downtown so the bank could fill its needs – $200 in nickels and $300 in quarters, from the biggest show in town!
