NORWICH, Vt. (AP) – Five days after a Thetford woman was reported missing, a body believed to be hers was found Monday. Police do not suspect foul play.

Janelle Miller, 48, of Thetford, was reported missing last Wednesday by family members and friends. She was last seen Oct. 9.

Police believe she may have become disoriented and left her home, about one mile from where she was found, according to Thetford Police Chief James Lanctot. The body was found about 200 feet from her home.

The cause of death was unknown, but Lanctot said there was no indication of foul play.

“We have every reason to believe she left her house on foot. We believe, from our investigation, that she may have been disoriented at the time,” said Lanctot. He did not know whether she had any medical condition.
