FARMINGTON – Lillian Messier, daughters, Marlene and Ruby, family and friends gathered at Farmington Pizza Hut on Oct. 8 for the raffle drawing to benefit the “Sons of Thunder” boys’ Christian orphanage in India.

Messier had pledged $500, but, through donations and merchandise, she raised $840.

Two of Messier’s grandchildren, Savannah Phillips of Wilton and Angelina Couturier of Livermore Falls, both 9, drew 62 winning tickets worth more than $1,600 in gift certificates, gift cards and merchandise.

Messier’s great-niece, Pamela Heath of Chesterville, placed the drawn tickets on all the numbered items. Thirty boys in India will have a new home during the spring or summer of 2007.
