CASTINE (AP) – An 18-yard field goal by David Lieberman at 6:09 of the second quarter lifted Coast Guard to a 3-0 victory over Maine Maritime on Saturday as offenses struggled under rain and windy conditions.

Lieberman missed a 27-yarder on Coast Guard’s first drive of the game before connecting on the game-winning kick.

Brand Hamilton ran for 110 yards and Jim Bower for 104 for Maine Maritime, which gained all but 11 of its 235 yards on the ground. Josh Williams led Coast Guard’s more balanced offense with 85 yards rushing.

Coast Guard improved to 7-1. Maine Maritime dropped to 5-3.
