LEWISTON – St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center is offering the American Cancer Society’s I Can Cope series third class for cancer patients, family members and caregivers from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8.

I Can Cope is a series of four free classes in which doctors, nurses, dietitians and other medical professionals present information about cancer and answer patients’ questions. Topics include learning about cancer, understanding treatments, practicing better nutrition during treatment and managing cancer-related fatigue.

“Nutrition During Cancer Treatment,” the third class, will present some basics for nutritious eating and offer general nutrition information and strategies for identifying and managing treatment-related problems. The guest speaker will be registered dietitian Ellen Boldon.

All classes will be held at the American Cancer Society Cancer Resource Center, located in the Regional Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders on C-4 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Campus Avenue. The last in the series will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 13. Those wishing to register should call the Cancer Resource Center at 777-4090.
