LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Historical Society will have as speaker on Wednesday, Nov. 8, author Debbie Daggett of Sabattus, who will talk about her newly published book.

The book, published by Acadia Publishing Co., focuses on the town of Lisbon. The book has photos and information about Lisbon’s past that were copied from the archive collection as well as from many private collections.

Daggett, formerly of Lisbon Falls, is a descendant of the late Carroll Wheeler, who owned Wheeler’s Market in Lisbon Falls many years ago. Her love of family and interest in the town of Lisbon encouraged her to take on her first book.

Election of officers will also be held at the meeting at the MTM Center, 18 School St.

The Lisbon Historical Society’s fundraising book is available at the museum or by contacting Dorothy J. Smith at 353-8510 or Bill Barr at 353-4388. The museum hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Thursdays by appointment.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the MTM Center. The public is welcome to the free programs.
