Society speaker
FARMINGTON – The Sandy River Valley Chapter, Maine Genealogical Society, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday Nov. 4, at the Farmington Public Library. The program will be on the Civil War and the speaker will be Jay Hoar, author of several books on Civil War soldiers. Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome.
Rotary meeting
JAY – The Jay-Livermore-Livermore Falls Rotary meets at 7:30 a.m. Tuesdays at LaFleur’s Restaurant.
Rotary is a group of local professionals who have a desire and concern to help those in the community.

Seniors dinner
RANGELEY – The annual Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner will be held at noon Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 100 Main St.
There will be fellowship and turkey with all the trimmings as well as apple and pumpkin pies baked by women in the community and served by local youth volunteers.
Door prizes have been donated by local businesses. The church is prepared to serve up to 100 people in house and home deliver 35 to 40 meals to those who are housebound.

Sessions to begin
FARMINGTON – Lead Western Maine is accepting registrations through Friday, Nov. 3, from people in Somerset, Franklin, Oxford and Piscataquis counties.
The sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will rotate between Farmington, Skowhegan and Rumford.
