Emily Staszak of Auburn has begun her first year at Mount Holyoke College of South Hadley, Mass, the oldest institution of higher education for women in the United States.
Staszak is the daughter of Sharon and David Staszak of Auburn. She is a graduate of North Yarmouth Academy. A member of the National Honor Society and the Cum Laude Society, Staszak received the Headmaster’s Award for her academic accomplishments.
Captain of the varsity soccer and varsity basketball teams, she was active in the Coastal Soccer Club, Odyssey Soccer and Olympic Development Program Soccer.
Her other extracurricular activities included drama club, student government, Athletic Council, mixed and chamber chorus and band. In the community she volunteered with Songbird Daycare, Baysquare Retirement Home, Lewiston Auburn Youth Soccer and St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
