1. As a money counselor and financial advisor, I help clients work with the financial challenges they face. I have seen how economic conditions are hitting working Maine families. I want to help increase the financial well-being and prosperity of Mainers who are being squeezed between increasing costs and static incomes.
2. I am a CPA with my master’s in taxation. I am offering my professional expertise and experience to address the imbalances in Maine’s current tax structure. I want to serve on the Taxation Committee and be actively engaged in needed tax reform to achieve greater tax fairness and simplicity.
3. The formula is rigid and flawed. My research shows me that enacting it will be a huge mistake. TABOR will not lower taxes but will seriously erode our Maine quality of life.
4. Mainers rely on their legislators to look out for their interests and will vote for candidates they feel most confident in. They expect us to stand by them throughout the year, not only in law-making. I am proud that Mainers have affirmed that we don’t condone discrimination. I am pro-choice.
5. Mainers have the right to access quality, affordable health care. With Dirigo Health, Maine leads the way, as usual, to creatively fulfilling those rights, offering long-term sustainable solutions. Let DirigoChoice work; make it more affordable by allowing the state to self-insure the program. Avoid the lure of high-risk pools.
