LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Rotary Club will its host 20th annual Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23, at Lisbon High School cafeteria.

The dinner, launched in 1986, is intended for anyone who would like to be with other for a Thanksgiving meal, regardless of income. A huge success the first year, it has grown each year since and is the Lisbon Rotary Club’s biggest project of the year.

Doors will open at 11 a.m., with hors d’oeuvres and entertainment provided by Dick Waters and his band, “Just Friends.”

Dinner will be served at noon, and everyone attending will be presented a boutonniere. Guests can also register for a door prize, a fruit basket and other “goodies.”

Centerpieces will be made by Clair Mitchell of Brunswick and will be given away after dinner by random drawings.

To assist the club in planning the meal, call Dick Gould at 725-1826 or Ora Madden at the Lisbon Town Office at 353-3000, ext. 107, if planning to attend. Those who need transportation to the high school or a home delivery may also call one of the numbers listed above.

Chefs for the day will be Nancy Couture, an instructor at the culinary art program at Central Maine Community College, Auburn, and two of her students, Garrett Leavitt and Matthew Stotts. Members of the Lisbon High School Rotary Interact Club and the Lisbon Boy Scouts will also help with the preparations and serving.

Homemade pies are needed. Anyone wishing to donate a pie or pies should call Dick Gould at 725-1826. Rotary President Dick Read and students of the Interact Club will be the official greeters for the day.
