Seniors dinner

RUMFORD – Rumford Senior Citizens will observe Thanksgiving today at a dinner served at 11:30 a.m. at the senior center, 50 Congress St. Those planning to attend are asked to sign up so that enough food will be prepared. There are eight seats left for the Christmas trip to Beacon.

The Christmas party will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at the American Legion Hall. Entertainment, door prizes and a 50/50 will be held. Santa Claus will visit. A full Christmas dinner will be served, but those planning to attend are asked to sign up soon in order to provide numbers for the cook. Non-members are welcome, and the cost is $8 for members and $14 for non-members.

OES meeting

RUMFORD – The Mt. Zircon Chapter 142, OES, will meet and confer degrees on one candidate Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Masonic Hall, Rumford Corner. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. following a supper at 6.

Landowners’ meal

RUMFORD – More than 130 landowners allow snowmobile trails to be built and maintained across their property.

Each year the Rumford Polar Bears Snowmobile Club say thank-you by hosting a landowners’ appreciation dinner. The meal will be held Thursday, Nov. 30, at the Eagles Hall, Rumford Avenue. A social hour will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m., followed by a guest speaker.

Club members are invited to attend to show their appreciation. Cost for the dinner is $9 a person except for landowners with a snowmobile trail on their property. For them, there is no charge.

Reservations are required by calling 364-3848 before Monday, Nov. 27.

The next club meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at Sam’s Restaurant. Planning for the annual Family Field Day will begin. All are welcome.
