NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Internal Medicine Group in Norway had to cancel its clinic last weekend because none of its 2,700 promised flu vaccines had arrived.

“We had 500 people scheduled for the clinic,” said Mary Longstaff, office manager for the medical group that treats patients considered at high risk for the flu. “People were very upset; we were very upset.”

She said the clinic pre-booked the date last February and that its distribution company verified in September that the vaccines would arrive in time.

Now, though, after receiving a shipment of 1,200 doses on Tuesday, the clinic has rescheduled three clinics for Nov, 28 and 30, and Dec. 2. Only patients of Oxford Hills Internal Medicine are eligible for the shots, Longstaff said.
