Peru: Code enforcement days

Selectmen are considering a set schedule for Code Enforcement Officer Jack Plumley so residents will know when he will be in town to review building permits. The board feels that would save money for the town and cut down on Plumley’s travel expenses.

The board also discussed complaints residents had voiced to the CEO over election signs. The board said the signs do not fall under the code enforcement officer’s duties. Legally, election signs may go up six weeks before election and must be down three days after.

Town Clerk Vera Parent announced that papers are available until Dec. 8 for the open selectman slot. The position is for two and one half years.
