LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met at Murray Hall on Nov. 13 with 37 members present. Students of the Jay Elementary School third and fourth grades were guests. They entertained with songs of thanksgiving and recited poems.

Prizes of 10 baskets of goodies donated by the students were drawn. The winners were Joe Slovak, Jeanette Buck, Shirley Couture, Lois Gordon, Elvina Miller, Patty Couture, Theresa Bilodeau, Clemence Moreau, Cecile Hathaway and Mary Potter. The children were given punch and cookies.

Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members and the men and women in the Armed Forces. Mary Groleau led in the singing “Praise to the Lord.”

The sick list included Loraine Ellingwood, Christine Harlow, Emile Richard and Peggy McDonald.

Three guests, Jean Oakes, Roland Tardif and Eugene Tardif, were present. Betty Ventrella and Marie Gagnon were welcomed back.

A Christmas party will be held on Monday, Dec. 11, with Janice Sweeney catering an Italian meal. A Thanksgiving Day meal will be sponsored by the Scottish Rite Masons at Mt. Blue High School and a SeniorsPlus meal will be held Tuesday, Nov. 21.

The 50-50 was won by Marilyn Desoto. The meeting was adjourned and cards and games were played.
