AUBURN – The Woman’s Literary Union, 19 Elm St., will hold a Winterberry Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, with a fish chowder and homemade pie luncheon beginning at 11.

The main room of the clubhouse will feature a Christmas boutique with an assortment of gift items. There will be a jewelry table with collectible pieces, homebaked goods and a Stitch-n-Knit table will offer quilted items such as placemats, table runners, bed and crib quilts, designer basket liners, knitted items, doll accessories, pillows, various handmade holiday crafts and cheese.

The library will house the Book Sellers Room, including vintage books and collectibles. The Potting Shed will be located in the sunroom, with house plants, partridge berry bowls, winterberries, paper whites and amaryllis in handpainted clay pots by Maine artist Melanie Ness.

Raffle tickets will be available for a hot air balloon ride from Walter Crites; $125 in landscaping from Danny’s Landscapes Plus; $100 gasoline from Ness Oil Co.; a night on the town at a local eatery and tickets to a concert of the Maine Music Society; a day at the Cloud 9 Day Spa and Wellness Center; and a holiday basket.

Artisan fair

NEW GLOUCESTER – Fiddlehead Center for the Arts will hold its fourth annual Artisan Fair fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25. This year the fair is moving to a more central location, the Spring Meadows Golf Club in Gray.

“We are celebrating our fourth year of this event and want to invite artists to join in,” said Jacinda Cotton-Castro, co-founder and executive director at Fiddlehead Center. “I think it is only appropriate that we celebrate the local artists and their talents and get a great start on holiday shopping.”

Grange fair

POLAND – Excelsior Grange will hold its Christmas fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at the Grange Hall on Harris Hill.

There will be coffee and doughnuts, crafts, wreaths, a latch-hook rug raffle, food table, twice-as-nice table and a fish chowder luncheon. The new Maine State Grange cookbooks and calendars will also be available.

Artisans open house

MANCHESTER – The Artistree Artisans Cooperative invites will have its 18th annual open house on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 24, 25 and 26, with 30-plus artisans displaying their creations at the Augusta Country Club. There will be free admission, featured artists, musicians, refreshments, raffle, door prize and an assortment of handcrafts and antiques.

The show of juried fine art and crafts will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 24 and 25, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26.

A special preview night for show and sale will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, and there will be a $5 admission for that evening only. Proceeds will benefit phone cards for Maine Troops abroad.
