AUBURN – As part of its Wellness 101 Series, the YMCA will offer a free yoga class for members and nonmembers. “Relax into the Holidays” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29. The class is free, but registration is required as size is limited. Register by Tuesday, Nov. 28, by calling or stopping by the YMCA.

Jim Melloh will lead the class that will use gentle yoga poses and relaxation techniques that help participants slow down and make a mind and body connection. Melloh is a certified Amrit Yoga instructor. He has been a member of the YMCA for 13 years and has also been practicing yoga for 13 years.

Tish Caldwell will assist Melloh. She has been a YMCA staff member since 1986, implementing the yoga program in 1999. Caldwell is a certified yoga instructor.

The YMCA emphasizes that no prior yoga experience is necessary and that all levels of participants are welcome.

The Wellness 101 series is designed to introduce the principles of several wellness issues that face society today. The YMCA’s goal is to help individuals in the L/A community make informed and educated decisions on healthy lifestyles. A new topic is covered every month and is open the public free.
