LISBON – Principal Rick Green of Philip W. Sugg Middle School announced the first-quarter student achievement awards on Dec. 19.

Winners of the student awards, the first of four to be given during the school year, are Holly Hogan and Forrest Cornell.

Hogan, a seventh-grade student, is the daughter of Sandy Hogan of Lisbon. She is a member of Student Council and is part of the Academic Advocate staff.

Cornell, an eighth-grade student, is the son of Lisa and Edward Cornell of Lisbon. He is on the school wrestling team and is a member of band.

Students are nominated by teachers for overall academic standings and various areas of student fellowship and accomplishments. The awards are sponsored by members of the Lisbon Rotary Club.

Green said, “Holly Hogan is responsible, maintains high academics, and is very conscientious. Forrest is also a high achieving hard worker, and never stops challenging himself.”
