AUBURN – Girl Scout Troop 655 of Lewiston presented the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society with a donation on Dec. 9. As a community service project, the girls collected food, pet treats and toys and cat litter for the shelter’s homeless animals.

The Humane Society provides a haven for approximately 4,000 sick, homeless and abused animals a year. The primary support comes from fundraising events and donations of residents.
