Pittsfield – Raymond Joseph Arsenault, 80, of Pittsfield, formerly of Rumford, passed away on Jan. 1, with his loving family by his side.

He was born on Nov. 11, 1926, the son of Emile Arsenault and Leona Richards Arsenault.

He graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He received two service medals, a World War II Victory Medal and an American Area Medal.

He worked for Boise Cascade for 43 years.

He was a family man, a very creative carpenter and very active in the community.

He coached little league baseball, was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Red Sox. He was a member of the snowshoe club and the American Legion. He loved to go to Foxwoods and play the slots.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Collette Arsenault; a son, James Arsenault, and wife, Patricia; a daughter, Nancy Bellfleur, and husband, Conrad, of Pittsfield; his grandchildren, Kelly Woodman, and husband, David, David Arsenault, and wife, Heather and Aaron Arsenault; and his great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kylie, Brandon, Aaron and Ethan.

He was predeceased by his parents; two sons, David and Robert Arsenault; a brother, Ernest Arsenault; and a sister, Irene Morin.
