Peru: Road boss reports on projects

PERU – Road Commissioner David Gammon reported to selectmen that Peasant Street needs tons of cold patch annually and a backhoe needs to be replaced soon, among other priorities.

Selectmen discussed the possibility of getting a bond to fix the roads properly. Chairman Bill Hine expressed concern that the board didn’t have enough figures to approach the voters.

Town Clerk Vera Parent said taking a 10-year bond offers more flexibility and lower payments to the town. The consensus of the board was to have Parent continue with bond applications, pending Finance Committee input.

The board approved two weapons permit background checks.
