Bridge play

NORWAY – Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Jan. 26 in the Fare Share Commons. A 3 1/2 table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in Flight A were Ashley Bies and Dick Allen; second, Kathy and Pete Cummings. Finishing First in Flight B and third in Flight A were Eleanor Griffin and Jim Dickens.

There will another game Friday, Feb. 2. A partner is guaranteed. All bridge players are welcome. For more information, call Les Buzzell at 783-4153.

Society program

FRYEBURG – The Fryeburg Historical Society will meet Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the American Legion Hall, Bradley Street. The business meeting will begin at 7 p.m. followed by a program, “Life in Fryeburg During World War II.” Artifacts and information gathered from interviews of people who lived through the war here at home will be featured.

Refreshments will be served, and the public is welcome. For more information, contact Diane Jones, director, at 697-3484.

Sunday speaker

NORWAY – The Sunday, Feb. 4, service at the First Universalist Church will be led by church member, Cynthia Reedy. Reedy, a teacher at Hebron Academy, will take as a sermon title, “Stories of Love from the Bible.”

Services start at 11 a.m. and child care is provided. The choir is led by music director, Heather Pierson. The church is located at 479 Main St.
